What it's really like to be a Printforms newbie?

Posted on : 19/10/2018

Hello everyone! My name is Georgia Chipchase. I’m the newest member of the Printforms team. I have been in my new role as Design & Marketing Executive for a couple of months now. So, I thought it would be fun to tell you a little bit about who I am & what I have been up to so far on my Printforms journey.

I was born a Yorkshire girl but then was raised all over Europe, I’m a Graphic Design & Communications Designer & worldwide coffee lover! During my previous career, I proudly achieved a 1st Degree in Graphic Design & Communications from the University of Huddersfield before going on to specialise in Graphic design, visual content management & social media marketing. I started out working in the production team for the well know wedding company Confetti. During my time I worked on everything from email campaign design to large wedding shows. It was here I found my love for client relations and realised I wanted to find out more about social media and marketing. I then moved on to work in a local studio producing top quality branding, social media graphics and magazines. My most recent role was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. I took a 9-month gap to learn a whole new range of skills, working part-time alongside a great team of social media and cake eating experts at Social Progress and freelancing to keep my design skills sharp. I am very proud to have been part of some wonderful teams over the past years and of the wide range of skills I have been able to obtain and bring to my new position at Printforms.

My aim as part of the Printforms Team is to bring our own business marketing up to where it should be, so everyone knows all the great services we offer & all stories we have to tell. I will be working closely with Andrew the studio Manager to create creative solutions for our clients and with Shaun the MD to continue building up our client relationships in and around the UK.

Andrew has been showing me the ropes in a multitude of areas within the print and production side of the business. This has enabled me to learn new skills and begin to manage print jobs with his support from day one. I must admit this was a little daunting at first but by the time week two came around I was eager to take a project through from start to completion independently. I’ve had the pleasure of spending some time with each member of the team thought my training period, it’s been a great way to integrate into an already amazing set of people whilst also understanding a lot more about how everyone works in harmony together to create a full service for our clients.

I enjoyed the opportunity of attending a few networking meetings and I’m honestly convinced that between Shaun & Andrew they must know at least two-thirds of the Wakefield population! Everyone I met spoke highly of the Printforms Team and gave me a warm welcome, this definitely helped clear away any nerves and I’m really looking forward to more of the upcoming events. Thank you to all our brilliant business friends who’ve already said hello – you’re awesome!

As the newest member of the Printforms Team, I feel like I'm part of the work family, already. Everyone has encouraged and supported me through my training period and I am so grateful!
I cannot believe how much I have learned to date and I'm very excited to see what my future career holds here at Printforms Ltd.
